Tuff Gong and Walt Disney Records association
24 September, 2009
The legendary label founded by Bob Marley in the '70s and the giant Walt Disney made a partnership, from now on Tuff Gong becomes the exclusive distributor of musical hits from Walt Disney Records for the entire Caribbean.
This union will bring many benefits to both companies, Tuff Gong has a great influence in the Caribbean region and Disney is always producing musical hits from their cinematographic productions.
For reggae lovers this could be a sad new, everytime we hear “Tuff Gong”, our mind goes to Bob Marley’s music, roots music, strictly Jamaican music. It’s hard to concept Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana albums with Tuff Gong label on the back.
In nowadays we also understand that music industry need to survive and all lucrative partnerships are welcome.
Anyway, Marley family knows, better than us, what’s the right way for Tuff Gong!

Buju Banton U.S. Tour vagueness
10 September, 2009
Last August, protests from LGBT groups have led to the cancellation of a few show dates from Rasta Got Soul US Tour.
It seemed more concerts would be canceled, the tour was at risk but now we know that Gargamel Music confirms over 30 shows at same time they are trying to replace the cancelled dates.
This controversy came from a song called “Boom Bye Bye” wrote by Buju Banton when he was 15.
In 1992 this song was re-released on a popular dancehall riddim and caused some turbulence in USA.
The first concert is scheduled for next Saturday, 12th September @ Philadelphia
